Blythswood Street

Occupying a site almost identical to that of the Douglas Street project, this development employs a similar approach to that which had worked so well for its predecessor, though targeted at a different market reflecting the economic forecast at the time.

Our initial involvement with the project was to rationalise an existing Planning Consent (by others) to form a more efficient internal layout. This was combined with a rigorous value engineering exercise, including a complete overhaul of the structural solution to form 13 one and two bedroom apartments above a small office unit at ground floor.

We successfully achieved a Variation to the Planning Consent, resulting in a robust and compact infill building, preceived in natural stone and zinc which takes several design cues from the neighbouring context.
