Comprehensive Tenement Improvement at
4–18 Garturk Street,
Glasgow

This commission, in two phases, involved the full refurbishment and improvement of 8 closes of residential accommodation including associated external works comprising a total of 64 flats – 24 for Govanhill Housing Association and 40 for private owners.

All of the properties were designed to meet current standards, with the Housing Association properties also being designed to meet Housing for Varying Needs Standards. The Housing Association also required 5 of the properties to be designed to provide amenity standard accommodation.

Both Phase One and Phase Two were carried out under a Partnering Agreement with Govanhill Housing Association, the main contractor and the design team which aided the successful completion of Phase One in March 2005 and Phase Two in March 2006 on time and on budget.
