The proposed development occupies two sites – the north site completes the existing crescent with a 3 and 4 storey “book end”. The South site again comprised of a 4 storey “book end” and a 5 storey infill site to Belmont Street.
The development is located in an area designated as an Outstanding Conservation Area and as such Glasgow City Councils' strict design conditions apply, namely, that the buildings replicate as closely as possible the original buildings (now demolished). This included a respect for the established grid street pattern and therefore the traditional building lines and continuity of street containment.
