Whilst remaining sensitive to the layout and existing features of the listed Townhouse building on Bath Street, the proposals include a contemporary block of accommodation to Sauchiehall Lane. The old and new elements are separated by a top lit atria space which allows the rear elevation of the townhouse to become reactivated and serves to provide gallery access to the rooms located within the new build block.
The public elements of the programme are located on the upper ground and lower ground floors and enjoy a direct relationship to the street, leaving the upper floors for a mix of hotel rooms and suites.
