TOM WITHAM
Architectural Assistant – Part 1
Having recently graduated with a first class degree from the University Strathclyde I have returned to Riach to further develop the skills and interests I gained during my year out at the practice. During my degree year I defined an area of interest through a dissertation that compared public spaces in Glasgow city centre and corresponding, recently developed spaces in Manchester. This developed my understanding of urban design issues facing Glasgow as it gears towards the commonwealth games and highlighted certain strategic priorities.
I grew up in a village called Blairmore in Argyll, attending Dunoon Grammar School until 2003 where I found academic interest in Art and English. My current job is the only full time position in practice I have held to date aside from my year out, although I gained work experience with G R Kennedy Architects in Dunoon during high school.
