DAVID RUSSELL

Architectural Assistant – Part 1

I grew up in the outskirts of Glasgow and, being interested in art and design, decided to try my hand at architecture. I began studying at the University of Strathclyde in 2003 and in June 2008 achieved my honours degree. My interest in urban design and my local roots led me to focus my dissertation on the Gorbals area of Glasgow. I aim to follow up this interest in September by returning to Strathclyde to undertake a post-graduate diploma.

I rejoined the Riach Partnership in June, having previously worked at the office for my Part 1 year out and also during the summer of 2005. I am keen to work on a variety of different projects and have had the opportunity to experience this at Riach’s. Pending the completion of my studies I aim to specialise in housing, both in the public and private sector.
