Rikki studied architecture in Dundee and Glasgow before establishing his own practice in 1991.  He was a founding partner alongside Colin in Kinnear and Crotch in 1997, which later merged with Riach Partnership Ltd in 2002.

He has extensive experience of both public and private sector housing clients and has worked on educational, leisure and ecclesiastical projects.

Rikki was the Chairman of the Glasgow Institute of Architects Housing and Environment Committee from 2000 - 2002. He was a Studio Design Tutor at the University of Strathclyde Department of Architecture from 1991 - 2005, and continues to act as a visiting critic at various Scottish Schools of Architecture.

He has worked on collaborations with Development and Regeneration Services, Scottish Enterprise, The Lighthouse and Glasgow City Council including the Tradeston Masterplan.

Rikki has been instrumental in several key projects within the office including Galleria, Yorkhill Street, Spinner Street and the North Possil projects with North Glasgow Housing Association.
